Please see the following message from Shaun Augustin from the Regina Referees Association:
The Regina Soccer Referees Association (RSRA) is looking for anyone interested in becoming a referee for the Outdoor 2025 Season. The RSRA is hosting two different types of clinics aimed at two separate age groups:
It is a two-step process to become a referee:
Please note the following additional information:
- Minimum Ages. Entry-level clinic participants must be 14 years of age to register in the Canada Soccer Association’s (CSA) Online Theory Course. This is a CSA rule, not a RSRA rule. It is non-negotiable. Those aged 12-13 can take the small-sided clinic. Children aged 11 or under are not eligible to referee;
- Entry-Level Clinic Online Theory Module. All registrants for the entry-level clinic must have completed the CSA’s Online Theory Module by Apr.20 to be eligible to register for the RSRA’s Entry-Level Clinic. Anyone who has not completed the CSA’s module by this date will not be allowed to register for the Entry-Level Clinic. The cost of the Entry-Level Clinic is $150 per participant;
- Small-Sided Clinic Online Theory Module. All registrants for the small-sided clinic must have completed the Saskatchewan Soccer Association’s (SSA) Online Theory Module by Apr.20 to be eligible to register for the RSRA’s Small-Sided Clinic. Anyone who has not completed the SSA’s module by this date will not be allowed to register for the Small-Sided Clinic. The cost of the Small-Sided Clinic is $75 per participant;
- Small-Sided Clinic Benefits? The RSRA’s goal is to introduce young people to refereeing earlier. Small-Sided Referees. aged 12-13, will be limited to U7 and U9 games until they turn 14 and take the full entry-level clinic. This will provide Small-Sided Referees the time to learn refereeing and gain confidence while in a low-pressure environment;
- Clinic Capacity. Both the entry-level clinic and small-sided clinic each have a capacity of 15 participants. A waitlist will be maintained if the clinic capacity is reached.
Instructions will be provided separately on how to register for the online modules for each type of clinic. Please contact Shaun Augustin, RSRA Treasurer, at rsra.treasurer@gmail.com or (306) 526-8781 for these instructions or any other questions about the process.
Thank you,
Shaun Augustin
